Tool Engineer

 

This employee will be an integral part of our team playing a significant role in the tooling and production functions.

 

Responsibilities:

 

•    Design, build, and maintain progressive dies used in high volume metal stampings processes. 
•    Maintain molds.
•    Proficiency in reading blueprints, CAD software, operating basic machine tools, mechanical and optical measuring devices.
•    Troubleshoot manufacturing issues to ensure precision and quality of stamped parts. 
•    Work with other departments to determine tooling methods, applications and design concepts.
•    Obtain quotes of new dies and die repairs.
•    Develop engineering specifications as to mechanics, materials, tolerances, designs and cost estimates.
•    Inspect finished dies for accuracy and functionality.
•    Order tooling and components for new die builds.
•    Supervise the initial tool use in production.
 

 

Education and Experience:

 

•    6+ years tooling experience
•    Broad knowledge of a discipline such as mechanical engineering
•    Vendor communication experience
•    Root cause problem solving skills
